PARASITE CLEANSE

Clove Oil for Parasites: The Egg Killer

You can kill every adult parasite in your body — and still be reinfected in weeks if you ignore the eggs. Clove solves that problem.

7 min readUpdated May 2026

Most antiparasitic herbs kill adult parasites. Very few touch the eggs. This is why people do a 2-week cleanse, feel better, then have symptoms return a month later.

Clove is the solution. It's the only readily available herb that penetrates and destroys parasite eggs.

How Clove Kills Parasite Eggs

The active compound is eugenol — the same compound that gives cloves their distinctive smell and makes them useful for toothaches.

Eugenol penetrates the protective shell of parasite eggs and disrupts their development. It's also antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory.

Without clove (or something equivalent), any parasite cleanse is incomplete. You're killing the parents but leaving the nursery intact.

Forms of Clove for Parasite Cleansing

  • Freshly Ground Cloves:Dr. Clark's recommendation. Grind whole cloves immediately before use. Pre-ground cloves lose eugenol quickly and become ineffective.
  • Clove Capsules: Convenient but check that they contain freshly ground cloves, not old powder. Best brands vacuum-seal to preserve potency.
  • Clove Essential Oil: Very concentrated eugenol. Must be diluted. 1-2 drops in a capsule or mixed with carrier oil. Most potent but requires careful handling.
  • Clove Tincture: Alcohol extract. Good potency, easier to dose than essential oil.

Dosing Guidelines

Ground cloves (Dr. Clark protocol):

  • • Day 1: 1/8 teaspoon 3x daily, before meals
  • • Day 2: 1/4 teaspoon 3x daily
  • • Days 3+: Work up to 1 teaspoon 3x daily
  • • Maintenance: 1 teaspoon once weekly

Clove essential oil:

  • • 1-2 drops in an empty capsule, 1-2x daily
  • • Always with food to protect stomach lining
  • • Don't exceed 3 drops daily

Clove capsules: Follow product instructions, typically 500-1000mg 2-3x daily.

Freshness Is Everything

Ground cloves lose 50-80% of their eugenol within weeks of grinding. This is why Dr. Clark insisted on freshly ground cloves.

  • Best: Buy whole cloves, grind in coffee grinder before each use
  • Second best: Vacuum-sealed capsules from reputable source
  • Avoid: Pre-ground cloves from grocery store spice aisle

The Essential Combination

Clove addresses eggs but not adults. Complete protocols combine:

  • Black Walnut Hull: Kills adult parasites
  • Wormwood: Kills intermediate stages, reaches different areas
  • Clove: Kills eggs

This is the Dr. Clark trio — together they address the complete life cycle. Skip one element and you're leaving gaps.

Side Effects and Cautions

  • Stomach irritation: Clove is strong. Take with food if sensitive.
  • Blood thinning: Eugenol has mild anticoagulant properties. Avoid high doses if on blood thinners.
  • Skin irritation: Essential oil can burn skin — always dilute.
  • Die-off symptoms: If you're killing eggs, you may notice increased symptoms as material is released.
