PARASITE CLEANSE
Dr. Clark Parasite Cleanse: Original Protocol Explained
Before CellCore, before mimosa pudica, there was Dr. Hulda Clark. Her 3-herb parasite cleanse launched the modern movement — and it still works.
Dr. Hulda Clark was a naturopath and researcher who published "The Cure for All Diseases" in 1995. Her parasite cleanse protocol became the template for everything that followed.
While controversial in mainstream medicine, her 3-herb approach has helped countless people. It's also the most affordable parasite cleanse available.
The Three Herbs
Dr. Clark's protocol uses three herbs, each targeting a different aspect of parasite infection:
- Black Walnut Hull (green):Kills adult parasites. The tincture must be made from green (unripe) hulls — mature black hulls don't have the same potency. Active compound: juglone.
- Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium): Kills parasites in all life stages and reaches the digestive tract where many reside. Contains thujone and artemisinin compounds.
- Cloves (ground fresh): The only herb that kills parasite eggs. Essential to break the reproductive cycle. Must be freshly ground — pre-ground cloves lose potency quickly.
Together, they address adults, larvae, and eggs — the complete life cycle.
The Original Protocol
Dr. Clark's original schedule builds up gradually over 18 days:
Black Walnut Hull Tincture:
- • Day 1: 1 drop in water
- • Day 2: 2 drops
- • Day 3-5: 3-5 drops
- • Day 6+: 2 teaspoons once per week (maintenance)
Wormwood Capsules:
- • Day 1: 1 capsule before dinner
- • Day 2: 2 capsules
- • Days 3-14: Increase by 1 capsule daily up to 14
- • Day 14+: 14 capsules once per week (maintenance)
Fresh Ground Cloves:
- • Day 1: 1/8 teaspoon 3x daily before meals
- • Day 2: 1/4 teaspoon 3x daily
- • Days 3-10: 1/2 to 1 teaspoon 3x daily
- • Day 10+: 1 teaspoon once per week (maintenance)
Modern Adaptations
Many practitioners modify the Clark protocol for better tolerability:
- Combined capsules: Pre-made formulas with all 3 herbs simplify dosing
- Slower build-up: Some need 3-4 weeks to reach full dose
- Added binders: Clark's original didn't include binders — adding them reduces die-off
- Full moon timing: Intensifying around full moon for better results
- Longer duration: 90 days vs. the original maintenance phase
What to Expect
The Clark protocol is potent. Expect significant die-off:
- • Fatigue and brain fog (especially week 1-2)
- • Digestive changes
- • Possible nausea (wormwood is bitter)
- • Headaches
- • Skin eruptions
This protocol hits hard. If you're sensitive, start at half the recommended doses and build slower.
Sourcing Quality Herbs
- Black Walnut: Must be GREEN hull tincture, not mature black. Look for "extra strength" or 2:1 concentration.
- Wormwood: Artemisia absinthium specifically. Some products use related species with less potency.
- Cloves: Freshly ground is essential. Pre-ground loses most potency. Grind whole cloves yourself or buy very recently ground.
- Trusted sources: Dr. Clark Store (official), iHerb, Amazon (check reviews carefully), local herb shops
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- • Very affordable ($30-60 for full supply)
- • Time-tested (30+ years of use)
- • Targets all life stages
- • Simple 3-herb system
- • No practitioner needed
Cons:
- • Harsh — not for sensitive people
- • Wormwood is hard on liver long-term
- • No built-in drainage support
- • Requires sourcing quality herbs
- • Taste is challenging (especially wormwood)
Who Should (and Shouldn't) Use This
Good candidates:
- • Robust constitutions who tolerate supplements well
- • Budget-conscious cleansers
- • People who prefer traditional/herbal approaches
- • Those adding to an existing protocol for extra power
Not ideal for:
- • Sensitive individuals
- • Those with compromised liver function
- • Pregnant or nursing women
- • People on blood thinners (black walnut interaction)
- • First-time cleansers wanting a gentler start
Combining with Modern Protocols
Many people use Clark herbs alongside mimosa pudica or other modern supplements. The combination can be powerful: Clark herbs kill, mimosa pudica removes. Just be careful not to overwhelm your system — start each element separately before combining.
